Forgot to do these last week and also thought I'd change up the format because reasons.
Photoshoot and brand work
Last Friday, I spent the day at a photoshoot as part of the upcoming rebrand for David Salmon Consulting. A brand shoot like this is something I'd normally dismiss or feel is unnecessary. Not sure if it's a guy thing, but it was way, way out of my comfort zone. But I wanted more than some generic headshots or even the various pics taken from my phone that I'm currently using.
Laura from Laura Rhodes Photography made it so much fun and created a relaxed, enjoyable environment. It was just like hanging out with a mate, drinking coffee and listening to music. and chatting while Laura took pics of yours truly. Because, well, that's precisely what we did. Laura's approach and way of working meant I really relaxed into the day and was able to enjoy something I was feeling pretty anxious about.
In more brand news, I had a set of stylescapes come in from Max at Bite Design for the rebrand. We met last year and started building a brand/purpose/participation model, which is a work in progress!
I Love Max's approach, visualising his thoughts and interpretation of my work. Amazed how they illustrate the approach in a succinct, stylish form before we go into the concept stage.
Really excited to see how this all develops with the expertise of Max and Laura over the next 8 weeks.
This week I've been reading/sharing
These three arrived in the post so will be getting stuck into:
Mission Lit: "A toolkit for finding purpose and outshining the competition"
Be More Pirate by Sam Conliff (late to the pirate party, I know)
New Power: Why outsiders are winning, institutions are failing, and how the rest of us can keep up in the age of mass participation by Jeremy Heimans and Henry Timms
I've also been listening to a lot of Johnny Cash. Community and rebellion seems to be the theme of the week.
