Weeknotes, 13 April

Updated: Mar 25

A few red flags re: energy levels after a very hectic few weeks and TOO MUCH FUN over the Easter weekend, so have slowed down and focussed on the urgent/important lists.

Have given myself permission to take a 3-day week and come back refreshed and re-energised. Will keep coming back to this video (sound on pls) of the dawn chorus taken before sunrise in the Forest of Dean:

This week I've (mostly) been

  • Planning for April-June and discussions with the founder of HBA Support.

  • Washups and lessons learned for the current project with Birmingham Museums Trust. (120% on income target. Whoop!).

  • Planning for presentation to in-house team on a recent campaign.

  • Wrestling with Meta Business Suite. Ugh.

  • Prepping for client kick-off meeting next week.

  • Notes ahead of Carbon Literacy Training with Better Business Network

  • Making more headway into The Year Compass (an amazing, free-to-download reflection, self-care and planning tool)

Extracurricular activities

  • Social drinks with fellow freelancers and remote workers from The Kiln

  • Wild camping to spot wild boar in Forest of Dean

  • Sun/Mon overnight trip to see friends in Bristol

  • Week 5 of Couch to 5k done!

  • Second bass guitar lesson. Pentatonic scale shapes, blues shuffle and Hotel California

  • Staring at my bikes and feeling guilty for not riding as much as I had planned to in early Spring.
