Marketing reviews

A marketing review is a foundational part of your organisation. A good review can shape strategy, improve processes, highlight new insights and provide long-term foundations for more effective marketing and communications.

The review considers both internal and external environments, giving a 360° view of your current marketing performance using insights, data and analysis. And I'll throw in some purpose-based goodness into my report and recommendations too. Interested? Find out more below.

FIVE REASONS WHY YOU NEED A MARKETING REVIEW

  • You want to gather information and evidence before developing a new strategy.

  • You feel your marketing outputs could be more effective in helping reach your business goals.

  • You want to move in a different direction to grow your business but are not sure where to start.

  • You’re unsure how to move on or let go of a tried-and-true formula that is no longer working.

  • Your in-house team wants to do more and try new approaches but lacks the time or space to do so.

What is included in a marketing review?

During a marketing review, we'll look at a range of internal and external factors that affect your marketing's effectiveness.

This can include everything from analysing the economic environment and relevant sector trends to evaluating your internal processes, channels, and tools.

THE PROCESS

  1. Define objectives, agree project plan and who to involve

  2. Organisational understanding

  3. Data and insights gathering

  4. Data Analysis

  5. Preparation of recommendations

  6. Reporting and recommendations

  7. Post-Audit presentation and discussion

  8. Long-term support (optional) - ongoing strategic support and consultancy

Depending on your business's size, maturity, and budget, we'll use a variety of research and insights-gathering techniques, such as interviews, workshops, customer research, trend analysis, website and content auditing, SEO and digital health checks, brand identity, and tone of voice analysis, and internal and external gap analysis.

After the review, I'll provide you with a report and recommendations that you can use to refine your marketing strategy, tweak existing marketing activities, improve processes or explore new opportunities. Plus you'll get some purpose goodness as part of working with me, using the United Nation's Sustainability Goals as a framework to see where you can make an even bigger impact.

Cost and timescales

I use a pick-and-mix approach, customising the review to suit your specific needs, timescales and budget. We'll agree this early in our discussions so that we both have clarity and understanding, with set timings and costs that match your goals.
